This web-based borehole and well library contains information about the subsurface geology for the regions surrounding the University of Rhode Island and the city of Providence. The information is derived from approximately 2,200 boreholes and wells in the area. The website allows users to carry out simple searches of the database, and then to download the results as an EXCEL file. Registered users may also submit new data for inclusion in the database. This borehole library is one part of a larger project, designed to develop an interactive, web-based, and GIS-oriented library of subsurface data in Rhode Island. The project was funded by the University of Rhode Island Transportation Center and Rhode Island Department of Transportation. A more detailed description of the website, plus background information, is provided on the web page entitled “About this Database”.
